Have a special desire? Chances are we can get it for you...just ask! Enjoy it inside or out on the patio, or in your room if you like...and don't worry about cleaning the dishes.. that's OUR job!
LUNCH is available from nearly a dozen different restaurants on the "beach restaurant row" just a few blocks from Posada Paraíso. You can get amazingly fresh fish (that was swimming just a few hours before you eat it), plus shrimp, steaks, sandwiches, good ol' hamburgers, and of course LOTS of different authentic Mexican dishes. You get to sit under a shady palapa, just a few yards from the water, so most people wear their swimming gear and bring a towel for a refreshing dip in the ocean before or after lunch. Buckets of ice cold beer are always available, and it's so pleasant that lots of people spend many of their afternoons just lounging, reading, and relaxing here.
There's also a few little local 'loncherias' (lunch restaurants) around town, serving up two or three daily specials ("comida corrida"), complete with soup, cold drink, salad, beans, and rice. The choices are likely to be among a chicken dish (perhaps with vegetables or mushrooms), a pork or beef dish, fish fillets (or whole fish)...all delicious and filling. This is where most of the local working people eat, so it's good, inexpensive, and lots of food.
DINNER is available from a few of the beach restaurants, several other restaurants a little further from the beach (including an Italian restaurant and a take-out pizza joint), and from little 'mom and pop' restaurants, operated off the front porch of the owners' homes (these end up becoming most people's favorites).
Norma and her husband Angel put chairs and tables outside their house two blocks away from Posada Paraíso, and serve excellent tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and tostadas, at ridiculously low prices.
There's a good butcher not far from here, who will cut your steaks the way you like them...or you can head down to the beach to buy fresh fish. The potatoes and vegetables and other side dish-makings are available at "La Competidora" grocery store (one block away) where his owner Artemio has always good stock. Rita will be glad to butcher a hen for you if you prefer fresh chicken just one away block from us. Again, Posada Paraíso's kitchen is at your disposal for all your needs, and we keep a good stock of condiments and dressing on hand so you don't have to buy a whole bottle for just one or two meals.
